Led by Timothy Dobson for 33 years, The Starhouse walls have echoed the heartfelt songs of dancers moving Toward the One.
Dances of Universal Peace
This sustained relationship between sacred place and sacred practice is rare in our culture of trends and novel fascinations.
The Event
Saturday,Ā MarchĀ 9th
6:30-9:30pm
The Dances of Universal Peace will resume at the Starhouse Deeper Dance on Saturday, March 9th at 6:30 p.m. The songs and chants that we dance to from the world's great wisdom traditions are taught before each dance along with the movements. No partners or experience is required. At the March 9th dance, we will dance a set in memory and tribute to David Tresemer, the founder of the Starhouse, who passed after a struggle with cancer on February 12th. Live music and candlelight set the stage for a night of celebration and contemplation. Timothy Dobson of the Starhouse Minister's Circle has led this form of sacred circle for the past 33 years when the Starhouse first opened its doors. "May the circle be open, yet unbroken." Tickets in advance at the enclosed link $20, or $25 at the door.
Online sales end at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday.
The Sacred Practice
Since the inaugural year when the doors were first opened at the Starhouse in 1990, the Dances of Universal Peace have been a part of celebrating solstices, equinoxes, and full moons, as well as wedding vows, rededications and life celebrations. The once a month offering of "Deeper Dances" on second Saturdays has been a constant rhythm for the regional gathering of peace dancers from the Colorado Front Range and beyond.

The Sacred Place
If you have danced in this beautiful jewel of a mountain temple, you will remember the Starhouse as a perfect vessel to hold sacred intention. It is the unique home to our Kindling Ceremony inspired by the Universal Worship Service. For 33 years the Starhouse walls have echoed the heartfelt songs of dancers moving Toward the One. This sustained relationship between sacred place and sacred practice is rare in our culture of trends and novel fascinations.
